About Me

"Artistic talent is a gift from God and whoever discovers it in himself has a certain obligation: to know that he cannot waste this talent, but must develop it." ~ Pope John Paul II

This has long been my philosophy since I began writing back in high school, starting out with short stories that were initially intended to be stories for different contests for young adult publications. While I never won any of the major prizes from those contests, the “bug” bit me way back then, and has led me on an amazing journey that culminated in the current novels that are currently out.

My debut novel in March 2009, The Awakening: Book One of the Nubian Underworld, revolves around a world and a subject that not very many are completely privy to or in the know about: the Fetish/BDSM underground. Determined to prove that “black folks are into kinky stuff, too,” I spun a tale of sexual liberation, revolving around a Dominant Couple, Ramesses and Neferterri, and their submissives, incorporating lessons for the novice that might be curious, but not yet ready to indulge into that world, while entertaining and titillating the experienced whom are used to delving into the world of WIITWD (what it is that we do) and enjoying the decadence within.

My sophomore effort in February 2010, Deviant Intent: Obsession, is an erotic mystery that flexes my muscles and talent as a crime fiction writer, relying heavily on my background and studies in the criminal justice field, where I am earning my Bachelor’s degree. DI, as I affectionately refer to my second series, is a spinoff from my Chronicles series which introduces readers to Dominic Law, a former Atlanta Police Detective who turns PI at the request of his childhood friend, Ramesses, to help him carve a niche in the PI industry by helping kinksters with different cases that the police just simply aren’t tremendously interested in, except maybe the special victims unit.

I went ahead and lent my literary short story talents in March 2010 to an anthology edited by the amazing Cole Riley called Making the Hookup: Edgy Sex with Soul. Being a part of that project was a feather in my hat, as the anthology made it into a conversation on the Oprah Winfrey Show regarding positive erotica writing.

I got back in the lab to the series that put me on the map, releasing Legacy: Book Two of the Chronicles of the Nubian Underworld in December 2010. I wanted to continue the series, taking fans deeper into the “Fetish/BDSM Underworld” and the lives of Ramesses and Neferterri, putting in a few more twists along the way.

Not one to rest on my laurels, I pulled a bit of a split personality stunt in 2011, and the wonderful result of that effort was a new erotic romance entitled All I Want… Is You by his “alter-ego,” Curtis Alexander Hamilton. The novel took off like wildfire, earning several rave reviews despite the unconventional relationship between a man and two women that turned out to be more than anyone expected. I also lent his talents to another erotica anthology, Erotic Snapshots, Vol. 5, edited by Essence Magazine best-seller Anna J, and I have been busy with a collaborative effort with her also, called Motives. This current project with Anna J took me into the genre of urban fiction, further testing the extent of my talents, to be released in 2012. With 2011 coming to a close, I haven’t stopped grinding, preparing the first project coming out in February 2012: the anticipated return of Dominic Law in Deviant Intent: DECEPTION. 2012 will also bring a few new surprises from both Rashaan and Hamilton, as the future begins to look brighter by the day.

Before it’s all said and done, I’m hopeful that anyone that reads any of the novels can find a character that they can identify with and love or love to hate. As the novels continue to come out, the maturity will be noticeable and the depth of the characters will keep fans coming back for more.
