URBAN BOOKS AUTHORS & WRITERS OF AMERICA

About Me

Robert Destin grew up in Crosby TX, and received his B.S. in Kinesiology and a M.S. in Education Administration from Prairie View A& M University, where he also was a starter on the football team. His educational pursuit was more than class work and sports; it also taught him effective communication and perseverance. After college he taught for 8 years in Houston Independent School District (at some of the roughest schools in the city) and has since been holding an Assistant Principal Position at the same school he attended as a child. His professional experiences as an educator, as well as a young black man in America have given him insight on the importance of getting an education. During school, Robert made a promise to himself to never be laughed at again for a lack of education. He is currently a member of many organizations, such as Texas Association of Secondary School Principals, Barrett Station Council, and Barrett Station Golf Club. Robert works endlessly with the youth and young boys in the community to give them options and be a role model to endless possibilities. His favorite pass time is golf, spending time with family, and reading. Robert has set on different panels and spoken at many events/special occasions. He is currently lives in Houston, TX and is married with a beautiful wife and daughter. His dream is to travel around the world and inspire young and old to change their thinking, therefore giving them a true understanding of happiness. Robert wrote his first book that will be in stores May 22nd, 2011 entitled “I Think Myself Happy” This motivational memoir will encourage young and old across America.
