I fell in love with Chasing Destiny. Eric Jerome Dickey had the ability to capture me in ways that he has never before. With Chasing Destiny I invisioned myself in the story. I read the book several times. I helped me grow as a writer and a reader. :)

Adam's Belle by Joyce Burnett

What's your favorite book and why?

The Help because it's a great story of about the friendships that developed among the maids and the maids and the children they were looking after. It's set in the deep south when racism was very much alive for a black maid to have a connection with the children was forbidden. It was a great book.

Will Love ever Know me

What's your favorite book and why?

Total Eclispe of the Heart by Zane.  I love this book because I am a hopeless romantic and it's a love story in it's purest form.  Not your typical Zane book (and you know what I mean :))  It reminded me of how things happen for a reason and there is usually a lesson to be learned in every situation.  People come in and out of our lives and the trick is figuring out which relationships to let go of and which ones to hold onto

The Escort

What's your favorite book and why?

The Congregation - The story line is easily followed, and more importantly it's very true to life.  I loved the different stories and interaction between characters.  All and all The Congregation was a very well written book, about the love between African American couples.

About Me

I was born and continue to reside, in South Jamaica, New York. At 44-years-old I am a father of four, teacher for the New York City Department of Education for over eleven years, a born again Christian and I am recently re-married. My lovely supportive wife is my strength, best friend, and editor of most of my work. Together we started and run our own publishing company called Bravin Publishing LLC.  In June 2008 we release my first manuscript called “A Man In Transition” A book of poems, stories and observations.

In the future we hope to be able to give authors a home where they can their work published and read without the worry of being taken advantage of. All while showing a united front in marriage and business.  The creation of a publishing company is also my way of presenting me as a role model for today’s youth and the African American community.

I obtained my A.S. in business from Kingsborough Community College; City University of New York, a B.S. in Education from York College; City University of New York and I hold a Master’s Degree in Education, specializing in Curriculum Writing, Assessments and Teaching from Walden University. I anticipate beginning my Ph.D. studies in the near future.

I am a writer of poetry and fictional and non-fictional stories. Over the years I changed my focus of writing from erotic based content to romance, spiritual inspirations and social promotion due to religious choices. I hope to offer the world-focused insight of a man who has completely changed his life to helping and supporting others. I believe my writing expresses my growth as a man who, now, attempts to offer counsel, entertainment and guidance to all he meets.

About Me

H. Pennie Scott was raised in Queens, New York. She is the daughter of Mary and the late Charles M. Scott. After graduating high school she followed in her cousins footsteps and attended South Carolina State University where she received her degree in Professional English. Pennie never had the desire to teach but once she finished school she did have the desire to write a book.

Although the desire to write a book was always in her she wasn’t sure what genre she wanted to focus on. A good drama or a beautiful love story were two subjects that she was interested in but she wanted her first book to leave the reader with a strong positive message.

It wasn’t until meeting women from different walks of life who had gone through some form of sexual abuse, is when she decided to write about this very sensitive issue. Not only was it important for Pennie to discuss this subject , it was also important to show the long lasting effects that sexual abuse can have on a person. Pennie also wanted to show a different way to cope and heal from such an evil act. It is her desire to show women that, “bad things may happen to you but, you don’t have to make bad choices.” ~H. Pennie Scott

About Me

There’s more to me than the human eye can see. I’m a woman of purpose and destiny. A perfect design, I’m special and unique. I won’t be identified by the parts that make up my physique. My beauty is not defined by my skin or my hair and my soul has more value than the clothes that I wear. I’m not a symbol of pleasure or sex appeal; I have the natural ability to comfort and the power to heal. When God made me, He created a gem because He fashioned me in the likeness of Him. I refuse to do anything that will put God to shame. I deserve to be treated with reverence and called by my name. I can’t be purchased or sold at any price because I’ve already been bought and paid for by the precious blood of Christ! I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14)

About Me

Author’s Biography

• Dan Anderson was born in Vidalia, Georgia, whose claim to fame is being “The Onion Capital of the World.” His family moved to Florida to escape the stress caused by all the publicity from living in such a famous place.

• His fascination with humor became evident when he was elected the Wittiest Senior in his high school class (it was a small class and he was too chubby for Most Athletic, too ugly for Most Popular, and too dumb for Most Likely to Succeed).

• He graduated from The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee thanks to curricula outlines (think Cliff’s Notes) and buying the notes of students who had actually attended classes.

• After college, he was drafted by the Army and served with the Americal Infantry Division in Vietnam. However, he was shipped back to the states a year later when it became apparent that his lethargic military skills had no discernible positive impact upon the war.

• On a positive note, he later managed to obtain his MBA from California Lutheran College in Thousand Oaks, California by milking the G. I. Bill until his educational benefits ran out.

• Forced to seek employment, and lacking demonstrable talents, he found a career with good pay and low demands: an executive position with a large U. S. financial corporation. When it eventually became evident that he was an imposter in the areas of leadership, organizational theory, and decision-making, he was downsized (i.e., a polite business euphemism for being fired).

• He then wandered into insurance and investment sales with another financial company and became wildly successful. This was a total surprise to his colleagues since he rarely showed up at the office, and scheduled few appointments with clients in order not to overtax himself and interfere with his afternoon naps.

• Having honed his writing skills completing unemployment applications and wildly fictitious resumes, it was only natural that he would become an author of fiction. He took early retirement and took up writing on a fulltime basis. Bad Vibrations, his first mystery, was published in June 2008 and has won a number of literary awards including:

o The Independent Publishers IPPY Book Award—Silver Medal, Best Regional Fiction 2009

o The Florida Writers Association Royal Palm Award—First Place, Published Mystery 2008

o Books and Authors—Murder Mystery Book of the Year 2008

o Royal Dragonfly Book Award - Mystery 2nd place

• The second novel in this series, Death Cruise, was recently published in August 2010 and won the Florida Writers Association Royal Palm Award – First Place, Unpublished Mystery 2008.

• The third novel, Vietnam Vindication, was recently completed and is undergoing final editing.

• Dan currently resides in Henderson, NV and spends many of his waking hours lounging around his pool puttering with his laptop and consuming pitchers of frosty margaritas. When not so engaged, he can be found on the road doing book signings and giving presentations at conferences and writers’ meetings.

About Me

Lets see, I love writing short stories and poetry, and my first book Pink Moon is now available on my site wAww.sarahlmurdaugh.com . Samples of my work and my book reviews can be read on there as well! My heart lays in the Artistic world. I love true music, art, poetry, dancing, singing... everything in that field. I love that dark rich color of purple, I'm shy at first, then can be silly and fun once I am comfortable with you. If I'm not, you will know, because I will seem standoffish and extremely quiet around you. but once you get to know me, you have a friend for life...unless you misuse my trust and treat me like I was born 2 hours ago. And if you do, thats it for me, I won't mess with you at all no more. Which means, just get to know me more and not assume crap. i hate people that get all in your kool-aid and don't know the flavor...lol. I like hanging out or in with those who are fun, positive and those who I feel I can really trust. I like video games, reading, walking, shopping, window shopping and animals. I hate coconut, scrambled/fried eggs makes me REALLY sick and I can't stand inconsiderate people. I like finding new hobbies to take up, like attending different churches, because I don't believe in staying with one church JUST because you were brought up in it. The reason for that is because, you may not get nothing from the preacher, so find a church home that best suites you. I just found my biological family, still searching for my biological mom, I am studying for my bachelors in Health Care Management at South University, and will have a book out soon. My favorite song of all times is New Birth "Wildflower", i am an old school fanatic, love to wrestle because i am a countrified tom boy. I love my country accent, I wish i had more company, and I love helping others more then having them help me.I love my daughter. I hate gum popping, that noise in my ear is like someone scratching a chalkboard. I hate loud rude folk who want to show how ignorant they are. I like being cynical when I'm clowning with my friends. I love perfume, love bath and body works, hate citrus scented perfume, yuck...and even hate it for a room deodorizer. I will LET you think you are getting away with picking on or hurting me, because you are apparently NOT on my mind are important to me. I do have my down moments when I think about my childhood, and it does impact my present life. I think TOO much, worry a bit more then that, have a not so good sleep pattern and has a temper that no one has seen and they better be glad they haven't. I am my own worst critic, I love learning new words and riddles. I love surprises. I always wanted to be in the air force just to fly and blow up stuff, but I wear glasses .

I also have a feed every Wednesday night at 12am called Midnight Confessions which will be coming to a live streaming radio show this September, so please look out for that, as well as, other projects I'm working on. There is so much more to learn about me, but you have to hang out with me to learn for yourself! Plus, I'm hungry and gotta go find something to eat, lol.
